We know our kids are special, but it's nice when others see it too! Below is a letter we received from the coordinator of our overnight trip to the Appalachian Mountain Club's A Mountain Classroom in October.
Dear Stephanie,
I can't thank you enough for choosing to bring your students up to the Highland Center this week. It was truly a pleasurable and rewarding experience for all of us. The students at Odyssey Day School are curious, enthusiastic, intelligent, cheerful and respectful. I meant it when I said I wished all students were like yours.
The efforts of you and your teachers have not gone unnoticed. We work with dozens of schools and the students are always a direct reflection of the teachers and the school culture they've created back home. It is very clear to me that you all care a great deal for your students and are truly invested in their success. It is a heartwarming relief to know that there are teachers out there like you who are creating warm, caring, and rewarding spaces for their students to learn and develop as people.
Furthermore, I am inspired and thrilled every time I meet a teacher who values the Earth and understands the benefits of outdoor and environmental education both for their students and the global community. Please let your teachers know that I'm singing their praises.
