Odyssey Day School An Independent School for Boys and Girls Toddler through Grade 8

Parental Involvement

We at Odyssey Day School take the phrase "Parents and teachers as partners" very seriously. Parents are considered an integral part of the child's education, and are encouraged to maintain regular contact with school staff. You may visit the school at any time.

Parents of toddlers are provided with a written note about their child’s day on a daily basis. Parents of full-day preschoolers will find a daily note about their child’s day posted on the parent board in each classroom. Parents of part-time preschoolers may check in with staff at pick-up for information about their child’s day. Written progress reports on Toddlers and Preschoolers will be provided in December and June. Reports on children in Kindergarten through grade eight will be provided in November, March and June. Parents may request a conference with their child's teacher at any time, and are particularly encouraged to do so after progress reports are distributed.

Parents have many opportunities to get involved at Odyssey Day School. Many families participate in school functions, serve on committees, or volunteer their services in the office, library, or classrooms. Parents can drive on field trips or serve as room parents. As opening occur on the Board of Directors, parents can apply to fill the positions.
