This year we have made some exciting changes to improve the summer program for our older students by expanding our theme-based philosophy into the summer curriculum.
The new program, ODS Explorers, gives elementary students (entering grades one through four) an opportunity to explore various subjects in-depth five mornings a week. Each week our specialists, who are all teachers at Odyssey, will build the week's events and activities around a specific theme.
Beginning the first week of July and running for eight consecutive weeks, the ODS Explorers themes are Math, Animals and Science, Music, Drama, Cooking, Sports, Water, and Arts. Special events will include field trips, guest visitors, and optional swimming lessons. ODS Explorers will enroll for an entire week, with the option of half days, full days, or a combination of both.
For younger children (ages 2 years, 9 months through entering kindergarten), the Little Explorers program will feature a variety of weekly themes similar to the ODS Explorers. Days will be filled with indoor and outdoor games, crafts, nature, music, and water play. Special events will include field trips, optional swimming lessons, dress-up days, and picnics. This program also begins the first week of July and parents may choose combinations of half and full days, with a minimum scheduling requirement of two mornings per week for any two weeks.
Both of these programs are open to the community and offer flexible scheduling, including daily Extended Care from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
