Mission & Core Values
Our mission
At Odyssey Day School, we nurture our students’ natural curiosity and enthusiasm and help develop critical thinking skills that serve them for the rest of their lives. Our vibrant community engages the whole child and fosters social, emotional, academic, and physical development. We know that when children feel accepted, connected, and loved, they gain the confidence to take intellectual risks and become empathetic and imaginative thinkers. Odyssey Day School is a safe and nurturing community which is responsive to the needs of families and promotes accessibility to families at all income levels. Students, teachers, and parents work together to support an inclusive and multitalented population of individual learners who are celebrated for who they are.
Meet the Head of School, Gina Bennette

Gina Bennette is a highly accomplished and resourceful educational leader with more than two decades of experience in independent school administration, classroom instruction, program development, and executive management. Before becoming our Head of School, Gina taught across the K–12 spectrum and served as Lead Teacher for Middle School at Odyssey Day School, where she built strong relationships with families, designed engaging project-based learning, and mentored new teachers. She has also supported students individually as an executive functioning coach, helping them strengthen organization, focus, and emotional regulation.
Gina’s foundation in education is grounded in both training and practice. She holds a Master of Education from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University—credentials that complement her deep understanding of how students learn and how teachers succeed.
Beyond the classroom, Gina brings a visionary, results-oriented leadership style shaped by her extensive executive experience. She has been sought after for her strengths in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development. As Regional Vice President at The Princeton Review, she oversaw eight markets across North America, led multimillion-dollar operations, and helped launch the company’s first training and development department.
Together, Gina’s instructional expertise, administrative acumen, and student-centered philosophy guide her approach to leading our school with clarity, compassion, and purpose.
