Middle School

In middle school at Odyssey, students learn content, develop study skills and gain confidence as they mature into young adults and prepare for high school.

The middle school program encompasses grade 5 through grade 8. This is a complex time in children's lives as they transition socially, developmentally and academically into young adulthood. We have designed an academically challenging curriculum that focuses on the individual child. 

Course work for students in grades 5-8 includes advanced integrated studies in language arts, math, science, social studies, French, music, art, nature-based education, special interest workshops, and physical education. As well as health and wellness skills. Technology is used to enhance all areas of the curriculum. 

Children in middle school are expected to act as role models in the school. They are given additional opportunities to develop leadership skills by planning and implementing events or even in some cases, contributing to the development of school rules.
